Port Moody firefighters charitable society

Dave Shefley started with the Port Moody Fire Department in 1970. He served the communities best interests as a Fire Chief by being instrumental in developing a sound foundation of fire safety that our citizens clearly benefit from today. As quoted from people who knew and worked with him that he had “a great sense of humour”, was a “Class Act”, “One of the good guys” and “a real straight shooter”. He was very well organized, a clear thinker, a natural planner, a trusted colleague and a mentor to many. Retiring in 2000 to his home in Whistler, Dave continued to be an active member in his community. Dave Shefley was a great man who made a huge contribution to every community he belonged to.
